Honouring Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Honoring Truth and Reconciliation
This September 30, on Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we're supporting Canada's Indigenous communities and residential school survivors.
This day holds profound significance as we acknowledge the painful legacy of residential schools and honor the strength, resilience, and ongoing contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada. It's a reminder for all Canadians, and Canadian businesses, to engage in meaningful reflection about our shared history and our collective responsibility to build a more inclusive future.
Here are two videos that explain why Canada created the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Recognition Through Action
At CarltonOne, we believe that recognition and appreciation are fundamental to building strong, inclusive communities. Our platform helps companies celebrate their people, recognize achievements, and build meaningful connections. Today, we extend that same spirit of recognition to Indigenous communities who have contributed immeasurably to our nation's fabric, often without the acknowledgment they deserve.
As we work with organizations across Canada to strengthen their cultures and recognize their employees' contributions, we're reminded that true recognition requires understanding the full scope of our shared history… including the parts that are difficult to confront.
Through our reward platform, CarltonOne employees, and our over 14 million program members can redeem their points to charities that support indigenous communities globally, including Habitat for Humanity, The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, True North Aid, Indigenous Youth Roots and many more.
We encourage everyone to visit the links below and explore resources about Canada's Indigenous history and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
